What to do in New Jersey - January 2007

January is not usually a busy month when it comes to finding activities for your children in New Jersey. January is typicaly very cold and dreary in our state, but that doesn't stop event planners from churning their wheels and hosting some really great events.

Some notable events this month for families and children include:

The tale of a mis-treated step-daughter turned princess comes to life in Cinderella at New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Newark, NJ and Cinderella at Community Theatre. James and the Giant Peach at Kelsea Theatre is a good choice for those who don't care to take their boys to see cinderella. But the boys would probably enjoy the Monster Truck Nationals at Sovereign Bank Arena, New Jersey or the Patcong Valley Railroad Open House.

The whole family can enjoy Disney on Ice - performances in the NJ region, as Disney characters come to life.

Some good old fashioned family entertainment can be had by seeing The Gizmo Guys - Juggling Comedy for all ages or Golden Chinese Acrobats at Community Theatre, Morristown, NJ.

January ends with Atlantic City Powerboat Show, one of the largest powerboat shows in the world. This year's show will have a station setup so kids can play watersports games via AC Powerboat Show features free video gaming for attendees.
